Hannes Germann

Hannes Germann ( born July 1, 1956 in Schaffhausen ) is a Swiss politician ( SVP) and a member of the Council of States. For 2013/2014, he is President of the Council of States.

Life

Germann was a primary school teacher, studied on the second chance education in Business Administration and completed developments. In addition to his professional and political activity, he is on several Boards with the banking sector as a priority.

In 1983 he was one of the founding members of the SVP section Oberhallau. From 1993 to 1996 he served as Education Committee and president of the Matura Commission and from 1997 until the dissolution of the community by fusion with Thayngen at the end of 2008 as mayor of Opfertshofen. From 1997 to 2000 he was a member of the Cantonal Council.

Since 16 September 2002, he represents the canton of Schaffhausen in the Senate. At the beginning of the 2011 session he was elected for 2011/2012 for the second vice-president, at the beginning of the session in 2012 for a year as the first vice president and the beginning of the session in 2013 for one year as president.
