Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle

The Hanns -Martin- Schleyer- Halle ( common: Schleyer-Halle ) is the largest multi-purpose hall of Stuttgart. The hall is located in the district of Bad Cannstatt in the Neckar Park about 200 meters west of the Mercedes -Benz Arena. In between are the Carl Benz Center, and Porsche Arena. Construction and capacity

The hall was built in 1983 and named for Hanns Martin Schleyer, who had been kidnapped and murdered in 1977 by the Red Army Faction. The capacity was initially around 10,000 seats or 13,000 seated and standing capacity. The hall has a built velodrome ( Length: 285.71 meters). 1991 and 2003 were held UCI Track World Championships here.

2005-2006, the arena for 12.2 million euros was rebuilt and modernized. The Velodrome was built over two curve stands, was also built at the head of a second grandstand rank. The capacity is now more than 15,500 seats and standing places. 8,500 seats are permanently installed. The construction of the common foyer with the Porsche Arena also accommodate five catering stations and a new restaurant could be created in the Forum area.

As a previous building a multi-purpose hall is considered the old riding hall.
