The Hanover Township is the largest of 23 townships in Jo Daviess County in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Illinois.

Geography

The Hanover Township is drained by the Apple River and is located in northwest Illinois on the Mississippi River, which forms the border with Iowa. The border with Wisconsin is located about 40 km north.

The Hanover Township is located at 42 ° 14'38 " north latitude and 90 ° 18'05 " west longitude and extending over 147.17 km ², spread over 134.93 km ² of land and 12.14 km ² water surface.
