Hanoverian Moor Geest

The Hanoverian Moor Geest is a 800 km ², slightly undulating countryside between Hanover and Nienburg in Lower Saxony. It belongs to the North-West German high moorland district, which covers the glacially influenced Geest areas of the Netherlands to the eastern border of Lower Saxony.

Description

The Geest of Hanover Moor Geest consists of a ground moraine with a height of 50 to 85 m above sea level, which is dominated by bogs. The natural boundaries are the north, the all- glacial valley in the east and the Burgdorf- Peine Geest.
