Hans Adler (business)

The Hans Adler OHG (formerly Hans Adler, Black Forest Fleischwarenfabrik ) is a manufacturer of ham and sausage specialties based in Bonn village in the Black Forest. The roots of the family business dates back to the year 1920. Adler is one of the founding members of the Association for the Protection of the Black Forest Ham manufacturer and the largest companies in the meat industry in Baden- Württemberg (2011 with just over 100 million euros in sales in 3rd behind black forest / Edeka southwest and Velisco ).

History

In 1920 Michael and Margaret Adler took over the former inn hill and the butchery in Linden Street in Bonn village. With the construction of the dam at Schluchseewerk 1929 sales of sausages increased since Adler provided the canteen of the workers. From 1935, the son of Hans Adler led with his wife Liesel the business and expanded the sausage range. It was followed by the beginning of the Canning, known were the Bonndorfer sausages. 1959 brought Hans Adler first Black Forest Ham on the market. In 1963, the Gasthaus Adler was closed at the current premises the slaughterhouse and the Zerlegerei were built. In 1985, the Hans Adler OHG took over the Kinzig valleys meat GmbH and the Black Forest Rauch GmbH and renamed it to the Black Forest Fleisch GmbH, Achern. Since 1994, the specialization was further developed at the ham products by building a pure ham operation in Achern and by establishing the Schinkenhof GmbH & Co. KG.
