Hans Baumgartner

Hans Baumgartner ( * May 30, 1949 in Stühlingen ) is a former German athlete who (for the Federal Republic of starting ) at the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972 the silver medal in the long jump won (invalid -7 .99-8 ,18- invalid -7 0.83 to 8, 05).

He also took part in the 1976 Olympic Games in the long jump in part, without medal success - as well as with the European Athletics Championships in 1971 and 1974.

In the years 1971-1974 Baumgartner won four times the German championship in the long jump. 1970, 1976 and 1977, he came third. The DLV record, however, he had to leave his strongest national competitors, Josef Schwarz.

In the hall Baumgartner took in 1969, 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1977 the national title. European Indoor champion, he was 1971, 1973 and 1977.

Hans Baumgartner belonged to the TV Waldshut ( 1960-66 ), TV Heppenheim ( 1967-76, Coach: Hans Jörg Holzamer ) and the ASC Darmstadt ( 1977 ). In its competition time, he was 1.87 m tall and weighed 75 kg.
