Hans Benda

Hans Benda ( born August 19, 1877 in Metz, † February 27, 1951 in Malente ) was a German naval officer, most recently admiral in World War II.

Military career

Hans Benda was born in 1877 in Metz, which was at that time in Alsace -Lorraine and belonged to the German Empire until 1918. Hans Benda studied from 1896 to 1899 at the University of Jena and entered on March 1, 1899 as a midshipman in the Imperial Navy. In the Imperial Navy Benda was used mainly as an officer and in various staff positions. Hans Benda died on 27 February 1951 in Malente.
