Hans Brunhart

Hans Brunhart ( born March 28, 1945 in Balzers ) was Prime Minister of Liechtenstein, Foreign Minister and Minister of Finance of 26 April 1978 to 26 May 1993. He was a member of the Patriotic Union.

Life

Brunhart attended from 1952 to 1957 the primary school in Balzers and from 1957 to 1958, the secondary school in Vaduz. After that he went from 1958 to 1964 at the Gymnasium Lower Waid in Mörschwil in the canton of St. Gallen, and finally from 1964 to 1966 at the Lyceum Gutenberg in Balzers. After finishing school Brunhart studied from 1966 to 1967 German at the University of Fribourg, and from 1967 to 1972 at the University of Basel.

He then became Head of the Liechtenstein National Library and State Archives in 1972. A post he held until 1974, when he was appointed by Prince Franz Josef II, Deputy Prime Minister of the Principality of Liechtenstein on 27 March. On April 26, 1978 his appointment was made head of the government of the Principality of Liechtenstein. Brunhart was now working in this office until 1993.

From 1996 to the end of 2011 he was Chairman of the Board of Directors of Verwaltungs-und Privat -Bank AG, Vaduz. Since 1994 he had been a member of the Board.
