Hans-Christian Schmid

Hans- Christian Schmid ( born August 19, 1965 in Altötting ) is a German film director, screenwriter and film producer.

Life

Hans -Christian Schmid visited the King Carloman High School in Altötting, where he also obtained his high school diploma. He studied at the University of Television and Film Munich Documentary and finished his studies with his thesis in 1992. As part of his studies, he turned champagne or soda, a documentary about people addicted to slot players, the short film The Laughing Storm, and the documentary The mechanics of miracle, which deals with the contradiction between faith and commerce in his hometown Altötting.

With the producer Jakob Claussen and Thomas Wöbke Hans -Christian Schmid has a long- standing collaboration: Heaven and Hell, a teleplay about an internal Church sect, After Five in the jungle, Schmid's film debut, as well as the later films 23 - Nothing is as it seems Crazy and lights were produced by Claussen and Wöbke.

With After Five in the jungle working with the writer and director Michael Gutmann, which continued with a number of other common scenarios began. The second production under the umbrella of 23/5 was Robert Thalheim's feature film And Along Come Tourists. Shot in the fall of 2006 in Poland, the 2007 film in the series " Un Certain Regard " in Cannes had its premiere.

From 2007 to 2009 arose under Schmid's Director of both the documentary The Wondrous World of Laundry and the feature film Storm to the Bernd Lange and Hans- Christian Schmid wrote the screenplay.
