Hans Eichel

Hans Eichel ( born December 24, 1941 in Kassel, Germany ) is a German politician ( SPD). He was from 1975 to 1991 mayor of Kassel, 1991-1999 Prime Minister of Hesse, from 1 November 1998 to April 23, 1999 President of the Bundesrat and 1999-2005 Federal Minister of Finance.

Life and career

After graduation in 1961 at the Kassel Wilhelmsgymnasium glans began studying German literature, philosophy, political science, history and education at the University of Marburg and the Free University of Berlin, which he to the first and in 1970 graduated in 1968 with the second state examination for secondary school teaching.
