Hans Esser

Hans Esser ( born January 15, 1909 in Essen, † unknown ) was a German fencer who won an Olympic bronze medal in 1936 with the saber team.

Hans Esser from the German Fencing Club Dusseldorf won in the unofficial world championship in 1935 with Julius iron Ecker, August Home, Henry Moss and Richard choice the bronze medal with the saber team. At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, the German saber team with Erwin Casmir, Julius iron Ecker, Hans Esser, August Heim, Hans Jörger and Richard choice also won the bronze medal. With the epee team -eaters took fourth place in Berlin. 1937, the first official World Fencing Championships took place; the German saber team with Erwin Casmir, Julius iron Ecker, Hans Esser, August Home, Henry Moss and Richard choice again received the bronze medal.

Hans Esser won in 1941 and 1953, the German championship with the saber. At the 1952 Olympics in Helsinki Esser retired with the saber team in the quarterfinals.
