Hans Falk (painter)

Hans Falk ( born August 16, 1918 in Zurich, † April 19, 2002 in Zurich ) was a Swiss painter and graphic artist who lived in New York, Ireland, England, Switzerland and on the Italian island of Stromboli volcano.

Life and career

Hans Falk was born in Zurich in 1918 and studied at art schools in Lucerne and Zurich. His first commissions were posters and graphics, with whom he won numerous awards. Among the most important contract wins was a series of seven posters for the Swiss National Exhibition in 1964. His extensive travels took him to extended stays in England, New York and Ireland.

Among his greatest successes is a book with the Swiss author Friedrich Dürrenmatt. 1977 accompanied Hans Falk Circus Knie on his tour through Switzerland. « Circus Blues " ( Film Arts ) - " Circus on the subject of Hans Falk " ( ABC Verlag) and the documentary from this circus fascination the book was published.
