Hans Ferdinand Emil Julius Stichel

Hans Ferdinand Emil Julius Pricks ( born February 16, 1862 in Wronke, Posen Province; † October 2, 1936 in Berlin light field ) was a German railway official and biologist.

Life

He attended the Royal Grammar School in Berlin, in May 1882 philosophical studies at the Royal. To enroll Friedrich- Wilhelm University. After the death of his father, he fell into financial difficulties, so that he had to stop the study in the third semester ( 1883). He then began a railway official career and in 1893 railway materials manager first class. In 1921, he became a railroad inspector general and the 1922 Head of the Materials offices in railway central office in Berlin.

Some of his work was published by his son Wolfgang graver. Hans graver was made an honorary member of various entomological societies and received in 1927 the title of Dr. phil. hc. He described several new species of butterfly and sub-species, for example, the subspecies of the Red pumilus Apollo. As the author of such descriptions he was sometimes abbreviated as " down. ".

Hans prick was buried in the Park Cemetery Lichterfelde.
