Hans Fischer (painter)

Hans " fis " Fischer ( born January 6, 1909 in Bern, † April 19, 1958 in Interlaken ) was a Swiss graphic artist and painter. He was especially well known as an author and illustrator of children's books Pitschi.

Life

Hans Fischer attended the School of Applied Arts in Geneva only ( " Ecole des Beaux -Arts Industrial and " ), then in Zurich. He worked as a painter, graphic designer, animator, cartoonist ( as for the Nebelspalter ) and also as a set designer (for the Cabaret Cornichon ). 1945 was a first exhibition of his work held at the Kunsthalle Bern. In 1955 he received the graphics Price of São Paulo Biennial in Brazil.

In 1938, his son, who later became a writer and comedian Kaspar Fischer, born. With 49 years, he died in 1958 of a heart attack at the hospital in Interlaken.

His 100th birthday was until the end of February 2009 in Zurich gallery Pendo a comprehensive exhibition of his work shown.
