Hans-Georg Reimann

Hans -Georg Reimann ( born August 24, 1941 in Starrischken, East Prussia ) is a former German touring.

Starting for the GDR, he won two Olympic medals in the 20- km - distance: At the games in Munich in 1972 he finished third in 1:27:17 h and at the Games in Montreal in 1976, he finished second in his personal Bestzeite of 1: 25:14 h

He had won ( 1:36:14,2 h) the silver medal at the European Championships in 1962 already, but thereafter remained nearly ten years without a medal at international highlights.

In his first Olympic success in 1972, he went - in sync with Peter Frenkel - a world record ( 1:25:19,4 h). Four years later, in 1976, he was a standard-bearer of the East German team at the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games.

Hans -Georg Reimann is 1,80 m tall and weighed in its active life of 65 kg. He competed for the SC Dynamo Berlin and trained with Max Weber. First, he was an engineer for measurement and control technology. After the end of his athletic career, he worked as a walker trainer. After the turn he was pharmacist representatives and moved to Freising.

In 1976 he was awarded in the GDR with the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver.
