Hans Haas

Hans Haas ( born October 17, 1906 in Vienna, † 14 May 1973) was an Austrian weightlifter and two -time Olympic gold medalist.

The skilled carpenter Haas was a member of the Vienna athletes Clubs "Eagle" in 1926 for the first time Austrian champion in the lightweight class. In 1927 he presented his first world record in the duel ( 228.5 kg ), which should follow another 17.

At the Olympic Games in Amsterdam in 1928 he was declared together with the German Kurt Helbig an Olympic champion as both provided the same performance in powerlifting and also to the hundredths kilograms were equally difficult. Four years later, he reached in Los Angeles again a second place.
