Hans Jansen

Hans Jansen (actually Johannes JG Jansen, born 1942 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch Arabist, Islamic scholar and columnist.

Hans Jansen received his doctorate in Arabic at the University of Leiden and worked in Egypt. He then became a lecturer in Leiden. In 2003 he was an adjunct professor of contemporary Islamic thought at the University of Utrecht.
