Hans Jonsson

Hans Jonsson ( born August 2, 1973 in Järved ) is a retired Swedish professional ice hockey player who played in his playing days from 1991 to 2011 among others for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League.

Career

Hans Jonsson began his career as a hockey player at youth level from MoDo Hockey Örnsköldsvik, for the first team, he was active from 1991 to 1999 in the Elitserien. In the 1991/92 season he also played 13 times for parallel Husum in the second class Division 1 from 1999 to 2003 was the defender for the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League on the ice, of which he is already in the NHL Entry Draft 1993 the eleventh round was selected as the 286th overall player. In 269 games, he scoring ten goals and gave 39 templates.

On 26 September 2003 Jonsson signed a contract as a free agent with his former club MODO Hockey, for which he has performed since then and with whom he was Swedish Champion in the 2006/07 season. In the final, he defeated his rival team Linköpings HC 4-2 in the best- of-seven series. Following the 2010/11 season he finished his career.

Internationally

For Sweden, Jonsson took part in the junior level at the U18 European Junior Championships in 1991 and the Junior World Championship in 1993. In the senior level, he stood in part at the World Championships in 1996, 1998 and 1999 in the squad of his country.
