Hans Judenkönig

Hans King of the Jews (also Judenkunig, Judenkünig; * in 1450 in Schwäbisch Gmünd, † March 4, 1526 in Vienna ) was a lutenist and one of the greatest instrumentalists of the Renaissance.

The Vienna acting within the university lute player was particularly known for two widely used textbooks for laymen for self-instruction in lute playing.

Possibly occurs because the name of the family that until 1477 in Gmünd archive is detectable from 1420 and guilds middle class belonged, from the role of " king Jews " at an Easter play here.
