Hans-Jürgen Veil

Hans -Jürgen Veil (born 2 December 1946 in Ludwigshafen, Germany) is a German wrestler in the Greco-Roman style ( bantamweight ) and silver medalist at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. There he was the most successful West German wrestler.

Hans -Jürgen Veil was also repeatedly German bantamweight champion and achieved very good results in international Ringer tournaments and championships. Because of his stature (1.60 m tall, dark hair / mustache ) Veil was often mistaken for a Turkish wrestler.

Hans -Jürgen Veil worked as a caretaker in a Ludwigshafen-based homebuilder, and is now retired.
