Hans Kalt

Hans cold -Jans (* March 26, 1924; † 2 January, 2011 train ) was a Swiss rower who won the Olympic silver medal and 1952 Olympic bronze medal in the coxless pairs in 1948.

Hans cold train started for the lake club and was coached by Karl Schmid. In the Olympic Rowing Regatta 1948 on the Thames at Henley three boats competed against each other. Hans and his brother Josef cold won both their leading and the semi-finals before the Australian twin. In the final they met the Italian Felice Fanetti and Bruno Boni and the British John Wilson and Ran Laurie. The British won the race by nearly three seconds ahead of the Swiss, seven seconds behind the Italians received the bronze medal.

At the European Championships in 1950 were for Italy Bettega and Erio Nicolo Simone at the start and proved to be the most effective competitors for Hans cold and his new partner Kurt Schmid. In cold target and Schmid were before the Italians and were European champions. 1951 at the European Championships in Macon won the Belgian Michel Knuysen and Robert Baetens before the Danish boat, cold and Schmid received the bronze medal.

In the Olympic Rowing Regatta 1952 in Meilahti, a district of Helsinki, five boats competed against each other. Hans Cold and Kurt Schmid won the first advance of the British, the Belgians and the Americans. Swiss and British won the two semi-finals, while the Belgians, the Americans and the French qualified for the hope runs for the final. In the final four boats from the first heat took the first four places. It won the American Charles Logg and Thomas Price before Knuysen Michel and Robert Baetens. Cold and Schmid received nine seconds behind the Belgians but over four seconds ahead of the British bronze medal.

Cold belonged in 1966 to the founding members of the Curling Club train and was appointed in 2000 as an honorary member. He was also a founding member of Panathlon Club train and its Honorary President.

He was a member of the guild to guild and brotherhood of millers, bakers and confectioners of the city train since 1964.

Hans and Josef cold worked in his father's print shop in Bern.
