Hans Kann

Hans Kann ( born February 14, 1927 in Vienna, † June 24, 2005 ) was an Austrian pianist and composer.

From 1946 he undertook concert tours worldwide. He studied with Otto Schulhof piano. Can was a teacher at the State Academy in Vienna, the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts & Music, Musashino Music University, the University of Arts Ueno in Tokyo and the Municipal Academy of Darmstadt. In 1987, he led the lunchtime concerts a the Vienna Konzerthaus. From 1977 to 1995 he was professor at the Academy of Music in Vienna. In the 70s Can occasionally made representations as a pianist in the ORF Sunday morning show " What's New? " with Heinz Conrads. His tomb is located in Vienna's Central Cemetery (size 33G, No. 35). In 2011, in Vienna Floridsdorf ( 21st district ) of Kannweg was named after him.
