Hans Krankl

Hans Krankl ( born February 14, 1953 in Vienna, actually Johann Krankl ) is a retired Austrian football player and pop singer. After his active career as a player, he was a football coach. Most recently, he was the coach of the Linz LASK traditional club in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Playing career

Krankl completed 1973-1985 69 caps for Austria, scoring 34 goals. His scoring record was only broken by Toni Polster. With Krankl Austria took part in the World Cup finals in 1978 and 1982. At the World Cup in Argentina, he was involved with two goals instrumental in the legendary 3-2 victory over Germany. After the 1982 World Cup, he finished his career team, but returned twice more (1983 and 1985 ) back.

In club football Hans Krankl celebrated many successes. He started his career at KSV tram Vienna. 1970 Krankl was half a season at SK Rapid Wien, arrived there, however, probably also due to his youth, hardly used. After a change for a season to Wiener AC, where in 26 games he drew attention to himself with 27 goals as a dangerous striker, he returned in 1972 back to Rapid. With the SK Rapid 1976 he won the Austrian Cup and was three times league top scorer. 1978 gereichten him 41 goals even to the Golden Shoe as top scorer in Europe. Coaching career

As a coach Krankl could not begin to connect to his success as a player. In Rapid Wien he reached in three seasons never once a qualification for an international competition. Musical career

Besides his career in football Krankl is also in the music business successful. At the beginning of the 1970s, Hans Krankl released his first two singles. Hans Krankl is married and father of three children.
