Hans-Peter Koppe

Hans -Peter Koppe ( born February 2, 1958 in Leipzig ) is a former rower from the GDR. Koppe 1980 Olympic champion in the eighth.

The rowers from SC DHfK Leipzig won the 1975 World Junior Championship in 1976 and eight in the coxless four. At the Olympic Games in 1980 the GDR eight won in the cast Bernd Krauss, Hans -Peter Koppe, Ulrich Kons, Jörg Friedrich, Jens Doberschütz, Ulrich Karnatz, Uwe Dühring and batsman Bernd Hoeing with Klaus -Dieter Ludwig as helmsman with almost three seconds ahead of second-placed British. He was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver for this success. 1981 changed Doberschütz and Koppe in the coxless four and were together with Uwe Gasch and Klaus Büttner World Cup third parties in Munich. 1982 sat Koppe and Doberschütz again in the GDR and eight were in Lucerne Vice World Champion.

Koppe is a qualified mechanical engineer and has been working since the end of his career in this profession.
