Hans-Peter Lehnhoff

Hans -Peter Lehnhoff ( born July 12, 1963 in Maria Village ) is a former German football player.

Career

The midfielder started his professional career in 1984 at the 1st FC Cologne, where he became a regular player. In 1988 he moved with his team - mate Ralf Geilenkirchen to Belgium to Antwerp FC, ​​with whom he met in the 1988/89 season in the UEFA Cup on the 1st FC Cologne. The Cologne won in the first round with 4:2 and 2:1. Lehnhoff was with Antwerp 1992 Belgian Cup winners. A year later, he reached the finals with the club in the European Cup Winners' Cup, which was however lost to FC Parma 1:3.

1994 Lehnhoff returned back to Germany and Bayer 04 Leverkusen joined to. Despite big names like Rudi Völler, Ulf Kirsten and Bernd Schuster, the team struggled in the season 1995/96 against relegation and was saved only on the final day. Under new coach Christoph Daum Lehnhoff with Leverkusen in the 1996/97 season with two points behind Bayern Munich vice- champion. He managed to conclude his career one more time in 1998 /99. After his playing career, he was adopted as the team manager in the supervisor - staff of Bayer 04.
