Hans Petersson

Hans Petersson (* September 24 1902 in Bentschen in the former Prussian province of Posen, † November 9, 1984 in Münster ( Westphalia ) ) was a German mathematician.

Petersson worked mainly in the areas of function theory, algebraic geometry and analytic number theory.

Named after him is the Petersson scalar product, which plays an important role in the theory of modular forms.
