Hans Ree

Hans Ree (* November 15, 1944 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch chess master and chess writer.

Chess players

His first international success achieved Ree as a teenager, when he 1964/65 qualified for the Junior Championship of Europe. This he was able to repeat a year later.

As a result, he won the championship four times in the Netherlands (1967, 1969, 1971, 1982). In 1968 he won in Amsterdam, the IBM tournament in 1971, he shared in the victory with Boris Spassky Vancouver. Between 1966 and 1984 he took part in ten consecutive Chess Olympiads. He brought in 1976 with the Dutch team the silver medal. In 1971 he won a duel against thunder ( 2, = 5, -1).

1968 FIDE awarded him the title of International Master in 1980 he became Grand Master.

His current Elo rating is 2389 (as of November 2010).
