Hans Rinn

Hans Rinn ( born March 19, 1953 in Long Meadows ) is a former German luger.

At the Olympic Games 1976 in Innsbruck, he won with Norbert Hahn gold in doubles and bronze in the single-seater. Four years later he won at the Olympic Games in Lake Placid gold also in the doubles. He was also 1973, 1974, 1978 and 1979 European champion in the recliner, 1973, 1975 and 1980 European Champion in doubles, World Champion in 1973 and 1977 single-seaters and 1977 world champion in doubles.

On May 29, 1976, he was awarded honorary citizenship of Long Meadows in recognition of his athletic achievements as a world champion and Olympic champion. Since 1980 Hans Rinn is an honorary citizen of Ilmenau.

Rinn, he was several times the Patriotic Order of Merit: 1974 in bronze and silver in 1976 and 1980.
