Hans Scherenberg

Hans Scherenberg ( born October 28, 1910 in Dresden, † November 17, 2000 in Stuttgart ) was a German automobile designer.

Life

After studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart and the Technical University of Karlsruhe from 1930 to 1935 Scherenberg was research engineer at the company Daimler -Benz and was involved in the development of the first equipped with gasoline direct flight engine DB 601, which was produced from 1937 series. In 1942 he received his doctorate from the Technical University of Stuttgart with a thesis on the " valve control system for four-stroke engines flying high ".

After the Second World War he worked for the engineering firm Dr. Schnürle, 1948 for the company Gutbrod. Under his leadership there, the world's first series-produced car with gasoline direct injection was developed, the Gutbrod Superior. In 1952 he returned as a passenger vehicle construction boss to Daimler -Benz.
