Hans Schwarzenbach

Hans Robert Schwarzenbach - Veillon ( born May 24, 1913 in Horgen, † September 18, 1993 in Zurich ) was a Swiss businessman and equestrian athletes.

Hans Schwarzenbach was the son of Zürich silk industrialist Alfred Schwarzenbach and his wife Renee, nee Wille. He was the youngest brother of the author Annemarie Schwarzenbach. He attended high school in Zurich and studied law at the universities of Munich, London and Zurich and received his doctorate. He married 1938 Adrienne Veillon. In the Swiss army, he was a Major.

In 1952, he won on Vae Victis the Badminton Horse Trials, at the Summer Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 as a member of the Swiss team the silver medal in the Military to Burn Trout.

Schwarzenbach was a partner of Robert Schwarzenbach & Co AG in Thalwil. He was a member of the Board of Credit Suisse. From 1968 to 1970 he was Vice Chairman of JR Geigy AG and after the merger 1970-1982 Member of the Board of Ciba -Geigy. In 1964 he was president of the Swiss Federation of Commerce and Industry.
