Hans Sitt

Hans Sitt ( born September 21, 1850 in Prague, † March 10, 1922 in Leipzig ) was a Bohemian- German composer.

Life

Sitt received his musical training in Prague. He was concertmaster and later theater Kapellmeister in Breslau, then in Prague. From 1873 to 1880 he worked as a conductor in urban Chemnitz. From 1883 to 1921 he was a violin teacher at the conservatory and conductor of the Leipzig Bach -Verein, at the same time until 1895 violist of the Brodsky Quartet.

Sitt composed three violin concertos and several Konzertinos for violin and orchestra, two cello concertos, a viola concerto and two concert pieces for viola.
