Hans Theessink

Hans Theessink ( born April 5, 1948 in Enschede, Netherlands) is a Dutch blues guitarist, singer and songwriter who lives in Vienna.

Life

Inspired by recordings of blues musicians like Big Bill Broonzy and Leadbelly himself Theessink brought the early 1960s to play the guitar. He has performed with the Skiffle Group Silly on in his home and in neighboring Germany. In 1970 Theesink with Next Morning at sunrise his first recording. Since then, he released numerous albums and performs regularly at major blues, jazz and folk festivals in Europe and America.

Since 1986 Theessink works with the tuba player Jon Sass. Appearances denied Theessink with his formation Hans Theessink & Blue Groove. In 1994 the solo album Hard Road Blues, the voice and guitar of Hans Theessink be heard on the sole. In 1995, in America the instructional video Hooked on the Blues on the market. On the album Lifeline (1998) Charles Brown sings the Theessink - piece Love Sweet Love.

In 2001 he was awarded the Golden Hall of Vienna man. Since 2004 Theessink occurs with the Hans Theessink on tape. In the published 2007 CD Slow Train Theessink also works with singers from southern Africa.

A few weeks before the death of singer-songwriter Georg Danzer gave this Theessink his favorite guitar with the coset leader, he would take good care of his "baby ". On 29 June 2007 Theessink then played its first live performance on this guitar - including the Danzer song of freedom.
