Hans Ulrich Fisch

Hans Ulrich fish (* 1583, † 1647 in Aarau ), Hans Ulrich I fish, was a Swiss glass painter and book illustrator. In addition, he had also held several political offices.

Life

Hans Ulrich fish, which often carries the increase of stone, is the son of John Fish and Margaret Saxer. The family comes from the Appenzell stone, but settled in Brugg, then moved to Aarau, where they finally also received the rights of citizenship. Hans Ulrich was 1623 Burger of Aarau and 1624 Gross Weibel. In 1633, he was appointed to the small council of Aarau, where he held various offices. In 1644 he was appointed town clerk of Aarau. He belonged to the Reformed confession.

His first wife Adelheid Engelhard died in 1615, leaving him four sons. Among them were two who followed him in the stained glass industry, Hans Baltasar fish (1608-1656) and Hans Ulrich II fish ( 1613-1644 ). He was a second marriage with ester chess. Hans Ulrich III Fish (1648-1701) is his grandson.

Works

Hans Ulrich fish was a lot of talented artists. He worked as a glass painter, disc rippers, heraldry, topographer and book illustrator. Despite his reformed faith, he received orders from Catholic institutions.
