Hans Van Laethem

Hans Van Laethem ( born February 7, 1960 in Ninove ) is the town crier of the Belgian city of Ninove.

In the international competitions of the " town crier " celebrated Van Laethem multiple successes: first, in 2000 he was Vice World Champion and 2002 European Champion in his hometown. He was the first Belgian Master of the City Schreier 2005. Finally he secured in September 2005 in the Australian Maryborough first Belgian also the world title. At the event he prevailed with his lectures in Ninoofs dialect, a transitional form of Ostflämisch to Brabants against 64 competitors.
