Hans von Rosenberg

Frederic " Hans " von Rosenberg ( born December 26, 1874 in Berlin, † 30 July 1937 in Prince cell ) was a German diplomat and politician. He was Foreign Minister from 1922 to 1923 under Chancellor Wilhelm Cuno.

Life

Rosenberg was a son of Major General Johann von Rosenberg. He attended the Friedrich -Wilhelms -Gymnasium in Berlin, the city school in Wismar, the Grand Ducal School in Neustrelitz and the Wilhelms -Gymnasium in Königsberg. After graduation he studied law and Kameralwissenschaften in Bonn, Geneva and Berlin. In Bonn, he became a member of Corps Borussia. Later he worked as a diplomat in Antwerp and Berlin. He led from 1918 to 1919 the political department at the Foreign Office, was from 1920 to 1921 German ambassador in Vienna and from 1921 to 1922 German ambassador in Copenhagen.

On November 22, 1922, he was appointed Reich Minister for Foreign Affairs in the imperial government Cuno. In a speech to the Reichstag he signaled on April 16, 1923, the German willingness to resume the adjusted because of the occupation of the Ruhr reparations.

With the resignation of the Cabinet, he retired in August 1923 from the Imperial Government in 1924 envoy in Stockholm. From 1933 to 1935 he was ambassador in Ankara.
