Hans Wechtlin

John Wechtlin (* around 1480 or 1485 in Strasbourg, † unknown ) was a German painter and woodcut artist.

Wechtlin was 1514 citizens in Strasbourg, where he worked until 1520. From his paintings, nothing received. His artistic significance lies in chiaroscuro or color woodcut, whose technique he trained in Germany the most. His style is influenced by Albrecht Dürer and Hans Baldung. He was also active in Strasbourg, Nancy, Wittenberg, and in Freiburg im Breisgau.
