Hans Weingartner

Hans Weingartner ( born November 2, 1970 in Feldkirch, Vorarlberg) is an Austrian film director, film producer and author.

Life and work

Hans Weingartner grew up as one of eight children in a farming village on the outskirts of Feldkirch, Vorarlberg in Austria.

After leaving school he worked as a canoe guide in Canada and as a ski instructor in Austria. Later he moved to Vienna, where he studied (1991-1997) Physics ( 1990), and neuroscience. He worked in Berlin in neurosurgery, where he made his diploma (1997).
