Hans-Werner Aufrecht

Hans- Werner Aufrecht ( born December 28, 1938 in Großaspach ) is the founder of the automobile sports company AMG and HWA GmbH.

Entrepreneurial activity

Maintenance until the mid -1960s, employees in the development department of Mercedes -Benz. Together with Erhard Melcher in 1967 he founded the company AMG as an engineering office, engineering and test the development of racing engines. In 1999, he sold 51% of AMG shares to the Daimler- Chrysler Corporation. He also in the same year founded the company HWA GmbH.

Family and Private

Hans- Werner Aufrecht is married and has two daughters. His daughter Pia - Luise Aufrecht is a German show jumper. He himself directed tournaments for jumping and dressage riders from in his own riding school in Affalterbach.

Upright has his main residence is now relocated to Switzerland.

Honors and Awards

On 4 July 2000 he was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
