Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt

Hans -Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt ( born August 12, 1942 in Leerhafe, today part of Witt mouth ) is a German orthopedist and sports medicine specialist. In addition, he is an author and is Chairman of the formula Müller-Wohlfahrt Health & Fitness Ltd, which sells inter alia, food supplements.

Life

Müller-Wohlfahrt comes from a pastor's family. The former track athlete studied after graduating from the Mariengymnasium Jever 1963 Medicine. At the Berlin Rudolf Virchow Hospital Müller-Wohlfahrt was formed at the Orthopaedic Clinic at Fritz Hofmeister as a specialist in orthopedics and in 1971 received his doctorate.

He is married and lives with his wife Karin in the Lehel district of Munich. His daughter Maren Müller-Wohlfahrt was known between 1999 and 2001 through their liaison with Lothar Matthäus. He also has a son.

Career

Müller-Wohlfahrt was 1975-1977 responsible doctor of the Bundesliga football club Hertha BSC. Since April 1977, he practiced in Munich and was club doctor of Bayern Munich. Until 1996 he sat as a team doctor regularly at the games in Munich on the bench before Wolfgang Peter took over this. Müller-Wohlfahrt accompanied the Bayern henceforth even for a few games and was mainly active as a " senior medical officer " of the championship record. He held until he was exempt from his duties in November 2008 this position. Since the dismissal of coach Jurgen Klinsmann in April 2009 Müller-Wohlfahrt is back on the Bayern bench, where he is supported by Lutz Hansel and Peter Ueblacker. Since 1995, he also takes care of the German national football team.

In May 2008, the orthopedic surgeon opened a 1,600 -square-foot practice at the Alter Hof in Munich city center. Financial support for this was by Dietmar Hopp, patron of Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.

He is known for his unorthodox and controversial methods of treatment, such as intramuscular injection of Actovegin, an extract of calf blood, or honey. His views on dietary supplements are partially controversial among colleagues. Despite frequent criticism of his alternative medicine and homeopathic methods he is an internationally recognized expert on sports injuries, especially in knee problems, and tendon injuries.

Müller-Wohlfahrt 2012 treated the athletes Usain Bolt before his participation in the Olympic Games; Bolt thanked after his victory in the 100 -meter final publicity in the German orthopedist.
