Hans Zehetmayer

Johann " Hans " Zehetmayer (* April 28, 1909, † unknown) was an Austrian amateur boxer, European Champion and Olympian.

Zehetmayer in 1930, 1931 and 1932 state champion in the middleweight division and qualified as one of six Austrian boxers for the fourth European Championship 1934 in Budapest, where he won the gold medal in the light heavyweight division. He defeated in the quarterfinals Aleksander Reinke from Estonia, in the semifinals Willy stalking from Germany and in the final novel Antczak from Poland. He is the only Austrian boxer in history to ever to win a gold medal at the Amateur Championship.

In 1935 and 1936 he was state champion in the light heavyweight and was qualified for the 1936 Summer Olympic Games, where he started in the middleweight division as second-oldest boxer. There, however, he already lost his second fight against the Argentine Raúl Villarreal.
