Geography
Geographical Location
Hanstedt is a rural residential community in the midst of the Lüneburg Heath is predominantly agriculturally oriented. The municipality belongs to the Samtgemeinde Bevensen - Ebstorf.
Community structure
The municipality consists of the villages of Hanstedt Allenbostel, Bode, Brauel, Eitzen II, Hanstedt I Oechtringen, Oetzfelde, Teendorf and Velgen.
History
980 the place was mentioned for the first time.
Incorporations
On 1 July 1972, the municipalities Allenbostel, Bode, Brauel, Hanstedt I and Velgen were merged to form the new municipality Hanstedt.
