Haopterus was the only pterodactyloide pterosaurs of the Jehol biota. He was named after Yi -chun Hao in memory of their achievements in the scientific exploration of the Jehol biota.

Features

The holotype of Haopterus, probably a subadult specimen, has a wingspan of 1.35 meters. The skull is large, long and narrow, with twelve posteriorly curved, slender and sharp teeth in the anterior jaw region.
