Haplogroup H (mtDNA)
Haplogroup H is a human genetics haplogroup of the mitochondria.
The Cambridge Reference Sequence (CRS), the mitochondrial sequence, all other sequences are compared with that belongs to haplogroup H.
Haplogroup H is 40 % to 50 %, the most frequent mtDNA haplogroup in Europe. This haplogroup is also common in North Africa and the Middle East. This density decreases in the southeast of the continent to 20% in the Middle East and the Caucasus.
The nucleotide position 4336 is tRNA variant of haplogroup H in connection with the later onset of Alzheimer 's disease After FamilyTreeDNA.
In his popular book The Seven Daughters of Eve by Bryan Sykes is the original mother of this haplogroup Helena.
