Hapoel Tayibe F.C.

Hapoel Taibe (also Hapoel Tayyibe, Hebrew הפועל טייבה ) was an Israeli football club from Tayyibe. Hapoel Taibe was the first Arab- Israeli club in the highest Israeli Football League. In 2003 he was released after several descents.

History

The club was founded in 1961 with the support of the Histadrut Arab Israelis and launched in the lowest, fifth division Gimel. It succeeded in consequence a slow but continuous increase with rises in the years 1974, 1986 and 1993. 1996 could Hapoel Taibe surprisingly win the title of the second Israeli league and thus ascend to the highest league, which at that time still under the name Liga Leumit changed its name (now the second division behind the Ligat ha Al ).
