Happy Mondays

The Happy Mondays are a British music group. Along with the Stone Roses and the Inspiral Carpets they are regarded as pioneers of the Madchester movement.

The group led by Shaun Ryder was founded in 1980 in Salford, Greater Manchester. The band originally consisted of lead singer Shaun Ryder, his brother Paul Ryder ( born April 24, 1964 in Manchester ) on bass, guitarist Mark Day ( born December 29, 1961 in Manchester ), keyboardist Paul Davis ( born March 7, 1966 in Manchester ) and drummer Gary Whelan ( born February 12, 1966 in Salford ). Their biggest hits were Step On and Kinky Afro, which both reached number 5 in the UK singles chart in 1990. Your recordings appeared on the label Factory Records.

In 1993 the group split for the first time. A first brief comeback they gave in the late 1990s, the second from 2004. A new album (the last dated from 1992 ) appeared in the summer of 2007 entitled Uncle Dysfunctional.
