Harald Burger

He received his doctorate in 1964 at the University of Zurich, where he was also his habilitation in 1970 and appointed as associate professor in 1975 and full professor of Germanic philology. In 2006 he became Professor Emeritus.

His research focuses on the German present-day language, media linguistics, lexicology and phraseology and language acquisition.

In 1990 he was naturalized in Switzerland.
