Harald Heinke

Harald Heinke ( born May 15, 1955 in a hurry Castle ) is a retired judoka from the German Democratic Republic (GDR), who in 1980 won an Olympic bronze medal.

Heinke began at the HSG Science Leipzig and then later moved to SC Leipzig. In 1972, he won the European Youth Championships, 1975 European Junior Championship. At the European Championships in 1977 Heinke only lost in the final against Poland Adam Adamczyk, a year later, the two were once again play in the final, this time Heinke won and was European champion. In 1979 he successfully defended his title against Soviet judoka Shota Chabareli. In September 1979 Heinke won his only East German champion. End of the year he won the bronze medal at the World Championships in Paris. In the 1980 European Heinke reached for the fourth time in a row the finals, but lost time against the British Neil Adams. Two months later at the Olympic Games in Moscow Heinke defeated in the second round to eventual Olympic champion Chabareli, but struggled through over the repechage for the bronze medal.

After completing his training as a qualified sports teacher Heinke was responsible at a vocational school in Schwerin for military training. 1989 Heinke is deposited in the Federal Republic of Germany. He was first in Abensberg, later active in Wolfsburg as a judo coach.
