Harald Irmscher

Harald Irmscher ( born February 12, 1946 in Oelsnitz / Erzgeb. ) Was soccer player in the GDR Oberliga, football national player of the GDR and football coach.

League players

Harald Irmscher began in 1955 at the BSG activist Karl Liebknecht Oelsnitz to play organized football. Until 1962 he held there and the student and youth teams then moved to the GDR Oberliga BSG Motor Zwickau, where he was first employed further at youth level and at the same time completed an electrician apprenticeship. On October 10, 1963, the 1.80 m wide midfielder came to his first international use, as he played the first of his four junior internationals. His first league Match of Irmscher as inside-right forward on 9 August 1964 in the encounter Motor Zwickau - Lok Stendal (2:1). After he had in 1966 become a football player, expected the GDR Football Association that Irmscher would join a top club. This was done after the end of the league 1967/68 season with the change to the newly elected East German champions FC Carl Zeiss Jena. National players

Coach

After his playing career was Irmscher youth coach in Jena. Subsequently he was assistant coach of the 1983-1988 GDR national team Bernd Stange. In 1988, the coaching team was recalled after a 1-3 defeat in Turkey. 2005 Harald Irmscher was again assistant coach Bernd Stange - this time the Cypriot football club Apollon Limassol.
