Haralson County, Georgia

The Haralson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Georgia in the United States. The administrative headquarters ( County Seat) is Buchanan, which was named after President James Buchanan.

Geography

The County is located in northwestern Georgia, on the west by Alabama and has an area of 733 square kilometers, of which three square kilometers of water are bordered clockwise to the following counties: Polk County, Paulding County and Carroll County.

History

Haralson County was formed on January 26, 1856 112 County in Georgia from parts of Carroll County and Polk County. It was named after General Hugh A. Haralson, a congress member and officer in the state militia.
