Hard sauce

Brandy butter is a sweet, rich sauce that is served in the UK during the Christmas season for Christmas pudding and other traditional desserts.

Brandy butter is made of whipped butter mixed with brown sugar (or icing sugar) and brandy. You cool it until it is relatively fixed, and served to warm desserts. In addition to the Christmas pudding it is often eaten with mince pies, but also goes well with other warm biscuits or toast.
